Sorry guys, The Victory Lap has been pretty empty the last
few days – I’ll make it up to you somehow. Maybe not, but whatever. I was busy with work and school over the weekend and then
went to the Seneca Wallace Show at Lambeau Monday night. Plus, guest blogger Murph was supposed
to be writing a longer follow-up about the Richie Incognito vs. Jonathan Martin
bullying saga, but the story he wrote was about as funny as the one-liners your
dad spits at any waitress under 40 years old, so I didn’t put it up.
(When I told Murph his story wasn’t gonna be posted, he told
me to go fuck myself, so I think that means his time at TVL may be over. Judging by what some of the Lappers and
Lappettes told me, I’m guessing no one’s gonna be that upset about this, but I
just wanted to let you know.)
Anyway, this Incognito/Martin thing has been blowing up over
the last week, so I figured I should at least address it. You guys already know the story, so I
won’t bore you with the details.
But the question I want answered is, who would you rather be in this
situation – Incognito or Martin? Both guys’ careers are ruined. No one would
want Martin as a teammate anymore because he’s soft, and it’s obvious that the
shitstorm around Incognito is not ending any time in the near future. So, would you rather be Incognito, the
guy who’s been tabbed as the biggest asshole on planet Earth? Or Martin, the
guy who gave up a job in the NFL as a grown man because someone was making
fun of him? Gun to my head I think I’d rather be Incognito. Call me an asshole,
I don’t care. Nothing worse than the whole world finding out you’re a pussy.
Just ask Derrick Rose.
You cannot tell me that Incognito had any actual intention of following up on the threats on Martin. If Martin actually thought his life was in danger, he is not only a pussy, but a fucking dumbass. I do not understand why you would not just tell incognito to go fuck himself.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? If anything I think Johnathan Martin has a lot more balls than most people do. I don't think most would have the courage to put themselves out there and call someone out for being a completely racist asshole. Let's not forget that being a player in the NFL is a job. I can't think of many other jobs out there where speaking to your coworkers in that manner is anywhere near acceptable. We are first and foremost human beings here. Just because you get paid millions of dollars to throw a a ball around and hit people doesn't give you the right to say whatever you want and think that you won't face the consequences. Let's grow up here.
