Madison couple switches drivers on the highway and both get DWIs

by JD

KARE 11: MADISON, Wis. - Dane County sheriff's deputies arrested both people in one vehicle for driving while intoxicated.

A deputy spotted a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 30 in Madison about 2 a.m. Thursday. Authorities say the 47-year-old driver from Sun Prairie traded seats with his passenger, a 47-year-old Waunakee woman, while the vehicle was moving.

When the deputy pulled the vehicle over, the woman was behind the wheel. Both were arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail. Sheriff's officials say it's the fourth drunken driving arrest for the man.

Obviously this probably wasn't that smart of an idea, but the fact that these two were able to switch drivers on the highway while they were both shitfaced without killing themselves is nothing short of amazing. Yeah they got caught, but still. Last week I dropped my phone between the seats and almost ran right into the guard rail trying to fish it out. This is impressive no matter how many DWIs they got.
