Wisconsin woman charged in KKK costume incident

By JD

A Sturgeon Bay woman is facing two misdemeanor charges for her involvement with a man wearing a Ku Klux Klan costume at a Sturgeon Bay bar for Halloween.
Aimee L. Hollis, 22, was wearing red spandex pants, an orange sweatshirt, a brown curly-haired wig, and antlers as she walked into a Sturgeon Bay bar yelling “white supremacy” with a man dressed as a member of the KKK, according to the criminal complaint. Her actions made many bar patrons uncomfortable and the man’s costume upset others, so the bartender at Poh’s Corner Pub asked the man to remove it or leave.
Sturgeon Bay police said although the man’s choice of costume was disturbing it was not illegal and he was not charged. But Hollis argued with several patrons both inside and outside the bar and the complaint said she was yelling loudly in the street and hitting random people.
I’m not gonna waste time trying to figure out why this lady walked into a bar to start a “white supremacy” chant with a guy dressed in a KKK costume – what you believe in is what you believe in, I guess.  But I will question why Aimee Hollis would choose Sturgeon Bay to start a half assed Klan rally. That city is literally 1% African American – and that’s from Wikipedia, so you know it’s true.
That’s like protesting abortion at a hospital nursery – it’s just not really an issue in that particular place. What point do you think you’re making with a racist tirade in a town where there’s like 3 black residents and they all play for the Packers?
