Packers at Bears Preview

by Joeva

I just had breakfast with four Bears fans that my brother played soccer with in college. Now instead of FOX NFL Sunday, there's Premier League on in my living room. This is a nightmare.

One hilarious takeaway from breakfast: These people really do believe Chicago can win a Super Bowl if Jay Cutler stays healthy. "He's got better numbers this year than Peyton Manning." Sigh.

Today's game is gonna be a grind. I hope Aaron Rodgers is good and pissed off, and I hope Eddie Lacy is too. I'm R-E-L-A-Xed, perfectly calm, in fact, but I'm not the one playing in a divisional matchup for a professional sports team that has lost two out of three games.

To win this game, Green Bay needs to run the ball with more success. Early and often. They have not run well the first three weeks, but all three of those teams were very, very good up front. The Bears are not. On top of that, their secondary is depleted. I don't think the Bears can afford to stack the box and I think they'd be foolish to try. If things don't go well early for them, their defensive play calling could get desperate. That should play to our advantage.

Facing the Lions wide receivers last week should be good practice for the Green Bay secondary heading into today. The Bears wide receivers are big and physical too, but Jay Cutler is still going to throw a few our way.

Packers 31, Bears 23.

  1. I know this is a preview and not a review, but that might have been the worst refereeing I've ever seen
