Bleacher Report: Wisconsin's Sam Dekker has been on NBA scouts' radars since he arrived at Madison, but a mediocre sophomore campaign caused a drop in his draft stock.
Now projected as the No. 16 pick by ESPN’s Chad Ford and the No. 23 pick by NBADraft.net, Dekker has a chance to redeem himself with a breakout season in order to jump back into the lottery picks conversation.... (FULL ARTICLE HERE)
Yesterday Bleacher Report published this article about how Sam could be a lottery pick in next year's draft, and it's worth a read if you have a few minutes. This is one of the things I planned on talking about once the season got here, but since I saw this I might as well mention it now... People have gotten lost in the way Frank played last season, and rightfully so, but somewhere along the line it's almost like people forgot that we have another potential lottery pick on the roster.
I could call it an overreaction to say that Sam's year was "mediocre" (He was Second Team All-Big Ten and started every game for a Final Four team), but he would say he underperformed last season too. But it's not like he's slumping, either - He improved on his freshman year where he made the All Freshman Team. He's just poised for a breakout season, and I think it's coming. Everybody who saw him play this summer called him the best player at whatever camp they were watching, and he actually is bigger than he was last year like people have been saying. It's awesome that The Moose hopped onto the national stage the way he did and that people are calling him the frontrunner for POY, but it's possible that he could have a huge year and still not be the best player on the floor wearing red this season if Dekker does what he's capable of.
Good luck, B1G. Here's what Bo Ryan is doing while you're trying to figure out how to guard the best offense in the country.
